Conversation on the importance of donation for organ transplantation.

With the aim of raising awareness about the importance of being donors and the benefits of a transplant for patients waiting for organs to improve their quality of life, a discussion was held with authorities from Alto Paraná and students from health courses.

There was also the testimony of Mrs. Maberl Riveros from Ciudad del Este, a 14-year-old mother from Luján who has been waiting for a heart for three months and is at the Acosta Ñu Children’s Hospital.

The governor of Alto Paraná, Ing. Cesar Landy Torres, Dr. Noelia Torres, director of the Tenth Health Region; Fernando Bittinguer, manager of the Tesai Foundation; Hugo Espinoza, director of the National Institute of Ablation and Transplantation INAT, Social Responsibility advisor, Rogelio Sallaberry and Dr. César Cabral, referent of the Health Region.

Dr. Elena Duarte, biochemist, explained to health career students various topics related to transplants such as: What does it mean to be a donor? How is the national registry for transplants carried out? bone marrow?, among other topics of interest to students.

At the end of the event, registration, typing and orientation for donors was carried out; among them the governor of Alto Paraná and the director of the Tenth Health Region.
