When resolving an appeal by the Prosecutor’s Office, the Single Chamber of the Superior Court of Yopal upheld the acquittal issued by the Third Criminal Court of the Circuit, in the case that was followed by former deputy Luis Alexis García, the former Secretary of Government of Yopal Olmedo Colina and Mr. Wilmar Muñoz Torres, for alleged sexual crimes committed with minors under 14 years of age.
When confirming the acquittal ruling, the Court considered the occurrence of the criminal conduct foisted on these people, which was not verified by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation as the accusing entity, for which reason the Third Criminal Judge determined to acquit them as there were doubts of the accused.
Thus, these people were acquitted of the charges that had been placed on them since 2015.
Having overcome his legal problems, former deputy Luis Alexis “Lucho” García continues his social work by visiting friends in various municipalities, as he has been doing in recent years.
