The initial surprise was quickly resolved, and the nuns were provided alternative accommodations by the city council, allowing Shapiro to take over the property.

Grateful for the exemption from property and waste taxes for five years, Shapiro is thrilled with the opportunity to acquire a home at an affordable price, which contrasts with the steep costs of real estate in Chicago.
