This Monday in the Encuentro interview with Julio Villagrán, the VAMOS deputy, Claudia Ortiz, assured that the electoral results of the legislative elections held on February 4 of this year are not exact, and that despite having obtained a seat in the Legislative Assembly, the votes obtained by his party were more than those recognized for them.
“This systematic fraud, for which we filed an appeal for annulment, had the objective of removing support from those of us who have had a voice. Despite everything, we have quadrupled our vote pool. “We are the only party that has grown electorally in this legislative election.”said Ortiz.
Given this, the parliamentarian considered that many people are seeing in VAMOS hope for El Salvador to build a solid alternative for the future, which is why in these legislative elections they received overwhelming support that did not allow the electoral result to be completely reversed. please GO.
“We are fully aware that the seat in the Assembly was not given to us by the TSE or the ruling party, it was given to us by the people and we will be there for them.”he claimed.
Regarding the issue of a unified opposition on a single front, Ortiz indicated that during these three years of management in the Legislative Assembly he sought to coordinate an opposition bloc that would work for the benefit of the population but that he did not find an echo for his proposal.
In this context, he called on the different sectors, people and leaderships to join VAMOS and maintain a strong unity that seeks the well-being of an entire country. “Everywhere there are very valuable people who could join these efforts”added the parliamentarian.
Regarding the statements by people from the ruling party in which they claim that Ortiz obtained votes in favor from gang members and their families, the representative considers that it is a totally false campaign orchestrated against him and a desperate action.
“It is embarrassing to resort to such a false argument to delegitimize the will of Salvadorans at the polls… What we ask for is justice, that no innocent person be imprisoned and that no criminal be free or allowed to leave illegally.”Ortiz concluded.
