Presentation at the Mom (Mobilità di Marca spa) headquarters of 5 hybrid “12-meter” buses for the urban areas of Treviso, Vittorio Veneto, Conegliano and Montebelluna, 9 “14-meter” CNG CNG buses and 4 “12-meter” buses “Hybrids, intended for extra-urban services on lines under concession
TREVISO. “This morning in Treviso I attended the presentation of Mom’s new bus fleet: 18 new vehicles with low environmental impact, hybrid and methane, which will be in service by the end of the month, the first in Italy. A total investment of 5,823,000 euros, of which 4,706,180 thanks to a regional contribution.
These new buses will intercept 31 million passengers, with great attention to the safety of customers, of course, but also of the drivers, for whom I hope zero tolerance in the event of uncivilized attacks “.
Thus the president of the Veneto Region during the presentation at the headquarters of Mom (Mobilità di Marca spa) of 5 hybrid “12-meter” buses for the urban areas of Treviso, Vittorio Veneto, Conegliano and Montebelluna, of 9 “14-meter” methane buses CNG and 4 hybrid “12-meter” buses, destined for extra-urban services on the lines under concession (operating in the province of Treviso and central Veneto).

“Even in difficult pandemic times, the Region has never stopped investing in public transport. The new buses are equipped with all the most modern instruments, such as on-board information monitors, video surveillance and, on the safety front, also the “Panic Button”, the system that MOM – first in Italy – is experimenting with. in collaboration with the Police: in practice – underlines the governor – in the event of an emergency, the driver can activate the alarm and the operations centers can view the images on board in real time and coordinate the intervention “.
MOM is also among the few Italian public transport companies to have requested additional equipment for the new vehicles, compared to the standards, in order to increase the level of driving safety. The new vehicles therefore see the Mobil-Eye system installed, among the first at national level for local public transport: a driver assistance device, designed for heavy vehicles operating in high traffic conditions and then applied to buses, in able to detect the presence of front or side obstacles. The system prevents frontal collisions up to 2.7 seconds early with an acoustic / visual signal.
Half of the new buses are also equipped with the innovative Efficient Hybrid technology, which allows a further reduction in consumption and polluting emissions, as well as having an automatic stop & start for a completely silent stop at stops: during the bus braking the system acts as a generator of current by exploiting the mechanical energy produced, allowing an intelligent distribution of energy, flanking the gas engine with electric drive power and significantly reducing fuel consumption, noise and already very low emissions.
“In terms of environmental impact – concludes the President of the Region – this is a real turning point for the Treviso suburban fleet, the first in Italy that will see the first buses with alternative fuel to diesel fuel put into service, dedicated to long journeys “. A change that will also have repercussions in MOM logistics, with investments in methane refueling stations.
