Three emergency situations were successfully completed by the Coast Guard in the Maritime Compartment of Monfalcone, on Monday 16 August. The first request for help was received in the operations room at approximately 14.10, via the blue number 1530. Four adults and a 9-year-old girl were rescued aboard a “tender” in difficulty, stranded in front of Grado Pineta.

The intervention of the Grado Coast Guard dinghy was immediately ordered, which promptly provided assistance to bring the five boaters back, safely, to a nearby nautical club.

Afterwards, around 4 pm, in the locality of Bocca D’Anfora, the same crew, coordinated by the operations room of the Port Authority of Monfalcone, alerted by telephone, was again called to intervene on another unit, with two boaters on board, in difficulty due to adverse weather conditions.

At 11.51 pm, a further request for assistance was received by telephone at the operations room of the Port Authority of Monfalcone, relating to a pleasure boat of 14 meters, stranded near the mouth of the Tagliamento river, with eight people on board of Austrian nationality , in front of the entrance to the small port of Marina Uno. The staff on duty, aboard the Sar vehicle, reached the boat, now visibly tilted on its side, in order to facilitate the transshipment of all occupants in difficulty, subsequently disembarked safely at Marina Uno.

Afterwards, the integrity of the unit was checked, making it safe. The operations concluded late in the night. No medical care was required in any of the assistance and rescue interventions. Only moments of apprehension and nothing more, in waters that it is good to know, to avoid the trap of the shallows. During the patrolling of coastal waters, scheduled by the Coast Guard for the entire summer season and intensified in the Ferragostan period, an activity was also carried out to combat the phenomenon of illegal fishing.

Following a report arrived in the operations room via the blue number 1530, military personnel, sent to Punta Sdobba of the Municipality of Staranzano, on board the pneumatic boat, seized an irregular post tool without signaling and the required identification marks, for a length of about 100 meters, armed with fifty pots.
