The Alpine Rescue intervened on the West to recover the women in difficulty
AURONZO. Two 27-year-old mountaineers, who arrived from the Czech Republic, were recovered during the night by the Alpine Rescue men. They had left in the morning, to climb to the summit of the West, along the normal route, but if on the one hand they were equipped, on the other they were probably not trained enough. In addition to this, the afternoon thunderstorm and snow at high altitude started. They were about to go back when it got dark and they were forced to stop and call for help. The men of the CNSAS, as well as those of the Guardia di Finanza reached them and brought them to safety, after having secured them with ropes.
