More than two years after the partial collapse of the parking garage at Erfurt’s Helios Clinic, some parking spaces can be used again. As a spokeswoman for MDR THÜRINGEN announced on Tuesday, 59 parking spaces have been available again for a week.
These could be used by patients, visitors and employees. During construction work, parking there is free and not tied to users. There is no barrier and the maximum parking time is 24 hours. The parking garage had to be stabilized beforehand.
Construction costs around 4.4 million euros
The first construction work on the parking garage began at the end of November last year. The ramps will be rebuilt as an independent part of the building; the structure of the parking garage will remain the same. There is now also a barrier-free elevator. The clinic management expects the parking garage to be ready by summer at the latest. Overall, the clinic expects construction to take half a year. The construction is expected to cost around 4.4 million euros.
