Brazilian leader will make opening speech at the General Assembly
(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 20 – The Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, landed yesterday in New York, where he will make the traditional opening speech to the United Nations General Assembly tomorrow.
The head of state, who chose not to get vaccinated against Covid-19, had to eat outside a takeaway pizzeria, as people without a vaccination pass were prohibited from entering public places in the Big Apple.
In a photo published on social media by the Brazilian Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado, Bolsonaro is seen standing outdoors, biting into a slice of pizza, in the company of other members of his official party.
Upon his arrival in New York, the far-right leader was greeted by a handful of protesters protesting against him at the entrance to his hotel, forcing him to enter through the back door. (HANDLE).
