University of Mediterranean Studies – Articles – 13 February | Let’s make some noise!

As part of the cultural activities planned by the University of Reggio Calabria, the next 13 February 2024 at 5.00 pm at the University Atelier the event entitled “Let’s make some noise!”, organized and curated by the Vice-Rectors, Francesca Fatta, Rossella Marzullo and Mariateresa Russo. The initiative was shared with the CUG of the Mediterranean which will participate with the President, Prof. Daniela Porcino, and all the members of the body.

The event is aimed at keeping attention high on the rampant phenomenon of gender homicides, more commonly known as feminicides understood in the three types of gender-related killing: homicides of women by their partner, by another relative, by part of another person through a modus operandi or in a context linked to gender motivation. In short, of the killing of a woman because she is a woman.

The doctor will be special guests Graziella ViscomiDeputy Prosecutor of the Republic of Catanzaro and secretary of the group of Democratic Area Magistrates for Justice and designer Paola Morpheus which will illustrate the strips that tell of brutal gender murders.

The Mediterranean becomes the setting for the inaugural event of the awareness campaign started by the magistrates of the Catanzaro district, to remember every woman in the world who is mistreated, abused, humiliated, persecuted, killed.

The performance is highly anticipated Mediterranean musical triocomposed of Francesco Buccafurri, Daniel Colistra e Celeste Scrufari so that through images and music the message that the event carries can be strengthened.

Mediterranean students will participate with their associations and secondary school students with whom orientation activities are shared.
