AstraZeneca must be used
The text reads in bold immediately after the identification of the older categories: vaccination must be done “using predominantly Vaxzevria vaccines (formerly COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca ) as recently indicated by Aifa », the Italian drug agency. Indeed, just over the age of 60, AstraZeneca was recommended because it was considered to be at the lowest possible risk of the consequences – however, found so far in very few cases – of thrombotic effects. Priority “in parallel” to health personnel
The ordinance then underlines how “in parallel with the aforementioned categories, the vaccination of all health and social health personnel is completed, at the forefront of the diagnosis, treatment and treatment of COVID-19 and of all those who work in the presence of health facilities and public and private health and social care ”. Indispensable also because the percentage of administrations in this range is still equal to 72%.
The age criterion prevails
The Figliuolo text then underlines how “to follow, the other categories considered priority by the National Plan are vaccinated, in parallel with the personal data groups”. Uh teacher or a carabiniere for example – two of the categories most at risk – if he has already taken the first dose he will complete with the second according to the established deadlines. But if you are young and you have not taken the first dose, you will have to wait for the precedence of older colleagues first. Furthermore, “people who have already received a first administration will be able to complete the vaccination cycle with the same vaccine“. With this indication it is hoped, indeed it is recommended, that if a first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered there is no cancellation and the booster always takes place with the English vaccine.
