VALDOBBIADENE. The headquarters of Unesco World Heritage Hills still had to be inaugurated in spring 2020, at Villa dei Cedri, on the occasion of the San Gregorio Fair.

The demonstration was canceled due to Covid and consequently the ribbon cutting of what will be the home of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene has been skipped.

Until today the president Marina Montedoro, the director Giuliano V Advantages, the board of directors had to count on the reception before theCerletti Institute of Conegliano e then of Villa Fabbri, that is of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Consortium, from which, however – it is good not to forget – the candidacy originates.

Lately, Advantages has been able to anticipate the use of the Valdobiadenesi rooms, at number 89 in Via Celestino Piva. Day after tomorrow, Wednesday 8 September, at 11, baptism, with the governor Luca Zaia, the mayor Luciano Fregonese and the president Marina Montedoro.

It will be an opportunity to present the Association’s programs, which go far beyond the launch of the first Unesco Way, 52 km from Vittorio Veneto to Vidor. The theme of these months, in fact, are new constraints that each municipality must adopt to comply punctually with the parameters of Paris, which the region has set for some time now. Unesco protection means, in fact, safeguarding the biodiversity of the banks, before any other objective.

On this occasion it will also be possible to visit the historical photographic exhibition “Era San Gregorio”, with shots that recount the traditional Fiera di San Gregorio, and the premises of the former factory adjacent to the Villa, recently the subject of a complex conservative restoration project.

They have passed more than two years after the launch of Unesco and the installation, municipality by municipality, of the large tourist tables has begun, which effectively border the protection area. As many as 29 Municipalities involved, 12 falling into the “Core Zone”, 3 in the “Buffer Zone” and 14 in the “Commitment Area”. Among the initiatives underway there is also the census of the stables and other sites that could be transformed into a widespread hotel.

The most important deadline, however, remains that of the implementation of the long-awaited urban plan which will establish the harmonized bonds between the various local authorities.. “In this restart phase – he told President Montedoro – we must concentrate our forces to ensure the right international visibility for a site that needs to be enhanced”.
