Valeria Valente: “The crime of sexual harassment at work is missing”

The crime of sexual harassment in the workplace does not exist in Italy. It seems incredible but that’s how it is. Harassment is punished under the Sexual Assault Act if the victim can prove, at trial, that there was physical assault. Or it is, in the majority of cases, classified as private violence, with negligible penalties for those who commit it.
