The reopening of the Alóag-Santo Domingo road, after the collapse of a bridge, is getting closer, the authorities announced.

This Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the metal structure of the new bridge was placed on the bases built on both banks of the Lelia River.

The assembly of the infrastructure was carried out on the new concrete bases, as reported by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works through your X account.

The Army Corps of Engineers was responsible for placing the floors on the structure.

This work benefits the residents of the province of Santo Domingo and Pichinchaas well as the thousands of transporters who use this road to get around.

The Prefecture of Santo Domingo will be in charge of the construction of the accesses.

The Alóag-Santo Domingo road is the main highway that connects the Coast with the Sierra and was interrupted after the collapse of a bridge between Santo Domingo and Alluriquín.
