The presentation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the municipalities of Agliè, Bairo, Castellamonte, San Giorgio, San Martino, Torre and Vialfrè for the management and tourist enhancement of the western area of the morainic amphitheater (Morena Ovest).
The agreement intends to officially give continuity to the intense teamwork, conducted in collaboration with the Gal Valli del Canavese, private operators and local associations, and aimed at the tourist enhancement of the territory through initiatives that are believed to be more effective if carried out. jointly and synergistically.
The goal of all the signatories is the creation of a rich and varied tourist offer, which can be attractive and competitive in comparison with other more established areas in the sector, in Italy and abroad. “The concept of Morena Ovest as a territory to be considered as a whole – explains Marco Succio, mayor of Agliè, the municipality leader in this step aimed at giving an institutional role to the initiative – has a genesis that dates back in time and, precisely, around the 2016, with the identification of the path network Between Orco and Morainic Amphitheater. The next stop was the Cibinbici event, conceived by the municipalities of Agliè, Bairo, Torre, San Martino and Vialfrè, a gastronomic ride to introduce cycling paths and local specialties. With the joining, then, of Castellamonte and San Giorgio to the group of municipalities, the ring of the West Morena took shape which completed the definition of an important reality, ideal for hosting the practice of sports activities such as cycling, trekking and horse riding and events aimed at enhancing both the peculiarities of each municipality and, as a whole, the territory that includes them all. With the subsequent participation in a tender, Vialfrè leader, which sanctioned the consolidation of the physical identity of the Ring of the West Morena, here we are at this project which today is formalized by this Protocol for the implementation of a five-year management and enhancement in associated form of tourist infrastructures for the five-year period 2021-2025 “.
“The Agreement – the signatories underlined – is the result of a work that the 7 municipalities started in the spring of 2020, collaborating with local private operators, associations and Gal Valli del Canavese, as part of the initiatives collected at the within the Morena Ovest territorial promotion format. The strategy underlying the initiatives launched is based on the belief that the territory of the West Morena is naturally suited to welcoming tourists who love to move around in a natural and not very man-made environment, not only by car, but also on foot, by bicycle, on horseback, however, having the opportunity to visit places of naturalistic, historical, cultural and artistic interest, with a food and wine proposal of tradition and quality and particular attention to the accessibility of the routes by a public with disabilities “.
With the signing of the protocol, the municipalities have engaged in activities of development of the offer, maintenance of infrastructures, territorial animation, training for tour operators and communication of all the resources and activities present in the area. –
