They chose the World Water Day to get to know the place from where most of the precious resource flows, the children had the opportunity not only to see but to listen to the explanations relating to the path that the water takes before reaching the taps of our homes. The now well-known project dedicated to primary and lower secondary school students entitled “Once upon a time there was water”, the competition, now in its fourth edition, has recorded notable participation right from the start, receiving widespread acclaim. Since last year the initiative has been further enriched with the collaboration of environmental associations who have made their volunteers available to go to schools with lessons aimed at raising awareness not only of the properties of water but above all how indispensable it is for our health and for that of the entire planet.

“Since the first edition, the project has proved successful with the arrival of numerous works, the drawings created by the first elementary school classes and the composition entrusted to the third, fourth and fifth classes – he is keen to remember Manuela Carlucci, director of the commercial, administrative and regulatory area and creator of the competition – since the second edition we have also involved middle school students with videos and photos, the theme of the works is naturally water and its protection. The collaboration with environmental associations has further enriched the project.”
A Vast last Monday lessons began in the primary school of New Teaching Direction held by Angela D’Aloisiovolunteer of Legambiente Geo Aps Club of Atessa, lessons that have continued even in these days. “The pupils ask questions, they are very attentive and interested in learning more, and this is an important fact”.
“On the occasion of World Water Day we remember that it is necessary to change the way we manage this precious resource to face climate change and the drought emergency which has not stopped bringing Italy and our territory to its knees since last summer – It reaffirmed Rebecca Virtue, president of the Legambiente Club of Atessa -.
