But what are the challenges that the world of food will have to face in the coming years? On this aspect, the numbers speak for themselves: the people to feed by 2030 will be 10 billion. At this great event, food systems will have to arrive prepared and technology will play a fundamental role. At the heart of the change there must be sustainability. Also because food, from the field to our table, contributes a share of 37% to global emissions that threaten our climate. It will therefore be necessary to strengthen a greener future for food by raising awareness of people, companies, citizens and institutions.

Innovation has already led to great progress. To give a few examples, technology allows to optimize the production and distribution of food, the use of the collaborative economy reduces leftovers and waste and artificial intelligence is able to adapt the consumption of food, agriculture 4.0, which exploits sensors, drones and big data to get better results, it is more and morenamica.

The steps forward are already there. It will now be necessary to push harder on a new food revolution. It will be a great opportunity that should not be wasted. Also because it is a matter of life.
