Metaverse-related industries are continuing to attract market players such as Internet companies and digital technology companies to enter and deploy. In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of Metaverse-related industries, government industry departments should formulate and issue support policies and development plans in a timely manner, create a favorable development environment for various market players, and encourage relevant companies to actively deploy Metaverse, seize new tracks, and cultivate new kinetic energy.
Technology research and development is the key
Accelerate key technological breakthroughs and enhance industrial innovation capabilities. At present, from a global perspective, the technologies and industries generated around the concept of the metaverse are still in the initial stage of development, and many underlying technologies are not yet perfect. This also brings opportunities for our country to achieve corner overtaking and gain technological innovation advantages in related fields. Relevant government departments should actively build technological innovation platforms and public innovation service platforms, increase innovation in basic technology fields such as intelligent sensing and software development, and provide support for breakthroughs in core technologies. At the same time, we should focus on key links in digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, digital twins, and blockchain, build and optimize an open collaborative innovation system, and support digital technology companies and various R&D institutions to jointly tackle challenges and integrate innovation. In addition, it is also necessary to explore the establishment of the identification and funding mechanism of Metaverse’s core technologies and industrial development directions, and to incorporate relevant research, especially technologies that have a disruptive breakthrough effect on the future development of the industry, into the government’s special funding list for science and technology.
