350-hour apprenticeship contract for boys. Confartigianato: all professional schools will be involved
TREVISO. Grade 4 students become fully-fledged employees of a local company with a dual apprenticeship contract. It is the second time – after Giorgi Fermi’s experiment a few years ago – that the project goes to a “traditional” high school (ie not a vocational training center), and this year it concerns the Ipsia Galilei in Castelfranco . Two upper fourth grades will be involved – a total of about forty students – who in the next school year will become employees of a local company for 35% of the total hours of the school program (about 350 hours).
And now the goal is to extend the experiment to all the Treviso Ipsia: as if the work in the company, in fact, became a subject like any other, to be carried out compulsorily in the last two years and, obviously, with a regular contract.
The direction of the artisans
The project is overseen by Confartigianato Imprese Marca Trevigiana, together with Confartigianato Castelfranco, which in recent times has repeatedly stressed the difficulty of its members in finding qualified labor. With this spirit, the association sat down at the table with the Ipsia di Castelfranco, a center for over 600 students, and put pen to paper on the activities to be carried out by the children in the last two years of high school.
“The signing of the agreement with a school such as Ipsia Galileo Galilei, so deeply rooted, with a marked and precise identity, responds to the needs that our companies express every day to get in touch with motivated young people to whom to offer an experience to give their way of testing an attitude and possibly to offer them a professional opportunity “says Oscar Bernardi, president of Confartigianato Imprese Marca Trevigiana,” allowing young people a training path that makes entry into production structures structural is fundamental to concretely nurture an orientation to self-employment “.
The school
The protocol also includes other school-work alternation packages to be carried out in the last three years, in addition to the now “classic” summer internships and other career guidance tools. Confartigianato’s objective will then be to extend the same project to seven other Ipsia in the province of Treviso.
“The school – adds Francesco Daniele Laterza, head of the Ipsia Galilei school – with this agreement consolidates the collaboration with the realities of the territory, guaranteeing a training offer that is attentive to the changing needs of the context and, at the same time, is a privileged channel access of young people to the world of work in strategic sectors of the economy. With the start of the dual apprenticeship, students are then allowed to reach a level of preparation and specialization higher than the normal reference standards. The goal is to offer innovative paths, of experimentation and didactic innovation, taking advantage of all the training opportunities that the legislation allows to keep up with the times ».
