The Colombia year-on-year inflation stood at 12.13% last June, a drop of 0.23 percentage points, which represents the third consecutive month of reduction in the consumer price index (CPI), reported this Monday the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
In the last twelve months, the sectors that had the highest inflation were Transportation (18.19%), and Restaurants and hotels (17.43%), while those with the lowest CPI increase were Information and communication (0.6 %), and accommodation, water, electricity and gas (8.07%).

In the last year, the cities where prices have grown the most are Sincelejo (14.34%), Cúcuta (13.47%) and Valledupar (13.06%)while those with the lowest CPI variation are Villavicencio (11.01%), Ibagué (11.65%) and Manizales (11.82%).
Inflation in June:
Similarly, DANE reported that the CPI had a monthly variation of 0.30% in June, which represents a decrease of 0.19 percentage points compared to the same period in 2022.
“The monthly behavior of the total CPI in June 2023 was mainly explained by the monthly variation of the Accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and Transportation divisions. The largest variations occurred in Transportation (1.08%) and Restaurants and hotels (0.56%),” DANE detailed in a statement.

So far this year, Colombia has accumulated inflation of 6.15%, which represents a decrease of 0.94 percentage points compared to that registered in the same period of 2022.
