Yeison Jiménez, one of the most prominent references of the Colombian regional genre, received important recognition in the Congress of the Republic when he was named Life Example Artist Award / Personality of the year 2023 by the Board of Directors of Café Congreso.
In a ceremony held on April 12, 2024 at the iconic Elíptico Hall, Jiménez was honored with the prestigious Presidential Ribbon of Excellence, Medal and Scroll, in recognition of his exceptional musical career and his positive impact on Colombian culture.
The event was an opportunity to highlight Jiménez’s careerwho started his career from the bottom, selling avocados in a market square, and then conquered national and international stages with his music.

His meteoric rise and commitment to excellence have made him a true example of improvement and success. During his acceptance speech, Yeison Jiménez expressed his gratitude to the city of Bogotá and all the people who have supported him throughout his career.
“When human beings focus on doing good, they achieve it… And they achieve it in a better way. Thanks to the Bogotá that brings together people like those who We are here to leave a grain of sand in positive things, leaving aside activities that may affect the development of humanity and our children,” were some of his words, full of emotion and gratitude.
