The 14th National Winter Games saw an exciting day of competition on February 21. The freestyle skiing aerials open category finals took place, resulting in Beijing Winter Olympics champion Xu Mengtao ranking fifth and missing the medal. In the women’s final, Kong Fanyu from the Heilongjiang team won the gold medal with a high score of 94.82 points. This marked Kong Fanyu’s first gold medal in the National Winter Games, and he expressed his excitement and determination to compete in the upcoming Milan Winter Olympics.
In the men’s final, Qi Guangpu, the champion of this event at the Beijing Winter Olympics, withdrew due to injury. Jia Zongyang from the Liaoning team also made a mistake in the last round, ranking fifth with a score of 76.92 points. The gold medal was won by Chen Shuo from the Henan team with a score of 125.97 points, surprising even himself as he expressed the unexpected nature of his win.
In the snowboard obstacle pursuit event, Jilin team Ye Kangjia/Pang Chuyuan won the mixed team gold medal in the open group. Ye Kangjia also won the gold medal in the men’s obstacle course pursuit competition in the open category, expressing his gratitude for the opportunities presented to him.

In the figure skating competition, Jin Boyang from the Beijing team ranked first in the men’s single skating short program with a high score of 89.20. He emphasized the strong atmosphere of figure skating in China and the impressive performances of young players in the competition.
