A fire destroys the federal beach volleyball center in Catania

The Sicilian federal center of beach volleyball was destroyed in the afternoon by a fire that devastated the peripheral area of ​​the city of Catania without sparing the Oasi del Simeto, a very large green lung and the axis of services, so much so as to force the Civil Protection to suspend flight operations at the nearby Fontanarossa airport. Some houses in the area were evacuated for safety, as the wind pushed the flames even in the neighborhoods near the Plaia waterfront area, at that time full of tourists and swimmers.
