Advisor: Davies will let Bayern’s contract ultimatum pass

As of: March 28, 2024 3:12 p.m

Next chapter in contract poker for FC Bayern player Alphonso Davies. In an interview, the player’s agent described the ultimatum given as “unfair”. They only want to decide after the season what will happen next for the Canadian.

Alphonso Davies will not sign FC Bayern’s contract offer – at least not before the end of the season. The left-back’s agent said this in an interview with “Bild”. The 23-year-old Canadian’s contract expires in 2025. Real Madrid in particular are said to be interested in signing him. There were repeated reports of an agreement between the two parties. Therefore, the Munich team would have to sell the player in the summer in order to definitely prevent a possible free transfer departure.

FC Bayern’s ultimatum “not fair” according to Davies’ agent

FC Bayern sports director Max Eberl had previously put pressure on the team. Davies has a contract from his current club that is ready to be signed. Eberl told Sport BILD: “We made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no.” There was then talk of a two-week ultimatum.

Davies advisor Nick Huoseh has now criticized FC Bayern’s approach: “It’s not fair that Alphonso is now being attacked. We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We then have nothing for seven months heard. Although I tried to contact the club myself during this time.” At that time, executives Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic were fired shortly before the end of the season.

Davies advisor: “We will decide at the end of the season”

Advisor Huseoh said: “Now we are given an ultimatum and are supposed to react within two weeks because the club is under pressure and took a long time to reposition itself in the management? That’s not fair.” Davies wants to know what will happen next season at Bayern.

Huoseh said: “It’s a very important contract in Alphonso’s career and we are supposed to make the decision – without knowing who the coach will be next season or what the team looks like. That’s why we think it’s unfair to go for the ultimatum react and will decide at the end of the season how to proceed when there is more clarity.”

Joshua Kimmich, whose contract expires in 2025, also recently pointed out that he would make an extension dependent on the coaching staff. However, the fronts do not seem to be as hardened as with Davies, especially since Kimmich is leading the negotiations himself. However, things seem to be going much better for Leroy Sané. The winger had recently indicated that he wanted to stay in Munich.
