Two provincial titles and many successes for the Giovanissimi Pronto the generational change in the Canavese club
BORGOFRANCO
Little cyclists, great satisfactions: this could be the slogan of Asd Tessiore Cycles, which last Thursday summed up the 2021 season by rewarding Bajo Dora the six color-bearers who kept the team’s name high in the 2021 season.
The team’s activity is marked by an approach to cycling for the more budding athletes, who compete in the Giovanissimi category, with the subdivisions from G1 (7 years) to G6 (12). The seasonal pearls, in the 16 competitions disputed, were the two provincial titles won by Giulio Gianotto (category G1) and Samuel Brustia (G6) and the spoils also include three other victories, eleven places of honor and ten third places. «The results are pleasing – comments the sporting director Maurizio Cilenti -, but they are not our main objective. What really matters, for me and for the whole team, is to see these guys mature. Every single improvement of theirs counts for me as a victory in the race. I see them engaging and having fun, growing as athletes and as people: what more can I ask for? ».
The activity of the group is varied: cycling from spring to autumn and, when the weather does not lend itself to training on the road, walks, some excursions on the snow and a bit of mountain biking, to keep the body in shape and shape the group. The six standard bearers who wore the white-red-black jersey are Giulio and Jacopo Gianotto, Giacomo Martensini, Leonarso Quacchia, Lorenzo Balma and Samuel Brustia; for the last two it is time to leave the team and move to the Beginners category, the first with the Madonna di Campagna Torino, the second with the Young Bikers Team Franco Balmamion Rocca Canavese.
The replacement is already ready: in the 2022 season two girls will join the team: Melanie Bosonin and Matilde Martensini. The 2021 season that has just ended is only the last (for now) page of a story of passion that has its roots in the decades. The name Tessiore began to circulate in the cycling scene thanks to the progenitor Guido, who died prematurely seven years ago. «Dad – tell his sons Fausto and Francesco -, after having raced up to the amateur category, he took the sports director’s card at the age of twenty and dedicated his whole life to cycling, making it a profession, as well as a passion. He has always been an attentive technician and the shop, which we still manage, was a consequence, it was a technician “loaned to the shop” ». Even the names of the children are clearly of a cycling nature: «For me, Eddy and Fausto were in the ballot, clearly in honor of Merckx and Coppi, the greatest ever – says the eldest -; then when my brother was born, Moser had recently won the Paris-Roubaix, so Francesco was baptized ». The enthusiasm of Guido and his children also involved mother Anna Maria, who pampers the young people of the team with maternal affection: “They are wonderful and Maurizio Cilenti is extraordinary with them and with the families, he was able to involve parents and create a great group “. The history of Tessiore Cicli begins in 1983, when Guido opened the first shop-workshop; the following year the first team and, since then, a relentless commitment. –
