PORDENONE. A starting shirt will most likely be his. And he will want to honor her best, for many reasons. Because it will be the first for him – in official matches – since he arrived in Pordenone, because he will wear it against his former team and because he will have the “10” on his shoulders, which means a lot. Amato Ciciretti is warming up his engine in view of the match against Parma, scheduled for Sunday in Lignano (the last match of the third round of Serie B, at 8.30 pm). The lizards want the first useful result of the season and the attacking midfielder, 27, has the qualities to drag them towards the goal. In front of a big match and someone like him, in these races, can only get excited.
If he accepted the Friulian cause, it is also because he wants to make his mark. He plans to make an impact and meet again. The former student of Andrea Stramaccioni in the Roma youth academy hasn’t come for great seasons. After the excellent two years with Benevento, which coincided with the jump from Lega Pro to Serie A (2015-2017), he struggled to make his mark.
A few injuries, but not only that, did not allow him to give continuity to those great years. Not even changing clubs several times (Parma, Ascoli, Naples, Empoli, Chievo) was enough for him to return to the one he saw at Ciro Vigorito. In many respects it has chosen an environment that is considered by many to be ideal for starting up again: relative pressures, a city on a human scale, the certainty of being at the center of the project. He arrived at De Marchi with the right enthusiasm.
However, he was not lucky. First an injury, accused a few days after his permanent signing from Napoli, which took place last August 6; then the negative moment of the group, which coincided with the dismissal of Paci: he never took the field from the first minute, he played game clips and only gave a taste of his qualities, scoring a real eurogol in the friendly match against Bologna at the debut. For the past two weeks he has been working hard with the rest of the group to get back on top. And now he can start from the beginning with Parma.
For the lizard technician, Massimo Rastelli, Ciciretti will be an important player in his management. He made it clear by giving him confidence in the starting eleven of last Sunday’s friendly, played with Fossalta Piave. On the other hand, the 27-year-old Roman has the “blow” that can decide the game.
