Rarely is any change or novelty in the visual identity liked by the majority of recipients. And Tuesday’s presentation of the graphic set for the 2024 Ice Hockey World Cup in Prague and Ostrava provoked a similarly contradictory reaction from the leadership of Czech hockey, as when the union changed its logo on the national team’s jerseys five years ago to mark the 110th anniversary, in which the national emblem was replaced by a lion’s head.
