Rugby Feltre is ready to face the first leg of the Serie C playoff final, with San Marco and the grenade coach, Federico Coppa, asking his boys only two things, namely that they limit turnovers and have fun, because a moment like this does not happen very often, but if you are young, as most of the members of the Feltre team are, it is likely that sooner or later you will come back.
How do you prepare for a final?
«I don’t know», Federico Coppa replies very candidly, «as a coach I have never found myself in this situation, at senior level, while as a player I have already experienced vigils like this. I think that at our level it makes no sense to look at what our opponents are doing and change the way we play. Of course we know something about them, but we will not change our way of being, because the finals are won above all with enthusiasm and conviction, with the awareness that what is done is done. Therefore, there is no need to change the tactical plan ».
What do you ask your kids?
«We are a team that creates a lot of game volume and, consequently, also makes many mistakes. We have to find the right mix between our freshness, our youth, our competitive fury and the need to reduce free mistakes. If we can do it, we will have a chance. Above all, the guys must enjoy it, because they earned this opportunity much earlier than expected, they proved to be much better than we expected, so they enjoy the chance to play a final. If, making the necessary precautions, we go to Serie B this year, well, we will be ahead of the project we set ourselves, otherwise the goal will only be postponed, because we will continue to achieve promotion in the next championship ».
How do you see the team?
«For most of the group playing games like these is new, I see them energized and motivated. I am confident that we will be ourselves, with our enthusiasm, the recklessness of the twenty years and the technical aspects on which we have trained. Now that we have arrived here, we play it ».
