history

A son of the art of our football is shining in the Retorbido. In the two consecutive successes conquered by the “Reto”, with Viqueria and Corteolonese, Davide Domenicali, 22-year-old midfielder, son of coach Lele, professional coach, also passed on the benches of Voghe, Pavia and Derthona, has impressed.

«At the Retorbido I found a healthy environment, with many humble boys, we are fine together. We come from two victories, in which I scored two goals, and I would like to continue like this. I want to repay the trust of coach Cesare Mazza », says Domenicali jr, who grew up with bread and football, closely following the exploits of father Manuele. «I started playing at 8 with the Green Years, then in the North Voghera, Derthona and Casteggio in the youth teams. I experienced my first impact with senior football in Lungavilla, in the First category, but there was the interruption for Covid. Now I am happy to be here in Retorbido. I have always followed my dad, I remember in particular the fantastic season in Portogruaro, with the promotion to C1. That year I moved to be close to him, I was in fourth grade ». While waiting for a new bench, Mr. Domenicali often attends Davide’s matches: «My dad has already come three times to see me and gives me lots of advice. He says that I have to beat the free-kicks and he is happy with the determination I put on the field, as a child I missed him a little. I felt a very strong emotion when I scored at Parisi, in the match I won against the Viqueria with my dad in the stands. At that stage, he made a piece of history ».

A future as a manager

In Davide’s life, the study has always had a priority role compared to football: «I am close to a degree in Communication at the University of Pavia, then I will pursue a master’s degree in Sport and Management. My aspiration is to work in the world of sport with a managerial role. In the meantime, I continue to commit myself and have fun with football ». Davide defines himself as «a running midfielder and insertions», he supports Juve, like his father, and points out two models: «My idol has always been Pirlo. Among today’s midfielders, I really like Locatelli ». In the past, Davide was also coached by his father: «It happened in Nord Voghera, when I was in the Esordienti and at Derthona, in the Allievi. My dad wasn’t training and so he took the opportunity to give us some useful advice. Most recently, he also helped us at Lungavilla in the first team for a couple of weeks. He has always taught me a lot, and still today he gives me many instructions to improve, even with some constructive criticism. He tells me that compared to him, I have the best feet, but we can argue about this affirmation », Davide jokes. While waiting for his father to return to the bench, after the last experience of Sant’Angelo, Davide has the opportunity to deal with him on a daily basis: “The father still has a great desire to train and is waiting for some interesting proposal, in the meantime I take advantage of it for the fact that he is at home. You can only learn from him ». –
