FC Bayern’s narrow victory in Augsburg seems to have been bought at a high price. The injury list has a prominent name added with Kingsley Coman, who left the stadium on crutches. The diagnosis was published in the evening.
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel expressed concern about Kingsley Coman’s injury in the Bundesliga game at FC Augsburg (3:2). “We’ll check the knee ligaments tomorrow. I can’t speculate, but it’s extremely painful right now,” Tuchel told the TV channel Sky. At the press conference he later admitted that things were “not looking good” for the Frenchman. But that’s all just speculation.
Winger Coman had to leave the field early in the game. When Munich took the lead 1-0 by Aleksandar Pavlovic (23rd minute), FCA attacker Phillip Tietz fell on the Frenchman’s left leg, who then remained lying there. Coman left the stadium on crutches. In the evening, the club announced that Coman had suffered a torn medial ligament in his left knee and would be out for weeks.

Tuchel had to do without Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer (both muscle injuries) as well as Joshua Kimmich (shoulder) in Augsburg. Bayern are also still missing the long-term injured Serge Gnabry (hamstring injury in the left adductor area), Bouna Sarr (torn cruciate ligament) and Daniel Peretz (injury to the medial ligament in the right knee).
FC Bayern makes a 30 million transfer
The South Korean Minjae Kim and the Moroccan Noussair Mazraoui are also currently not in the squad as they are taking part in the continental championships with their national teams. “It’s a bit magical at the moment that we go out with an injured player every game,” complained veteran Thomas Müller.

Coman’s failure hits the Munich team particularly hard given the long list of failures two weeks before the Bundesliga summit at Bayer Leverkusen and the following round of 16 first leg in the Champions League at Lazio Rome. This also increases the pressure to sign more new players. The winter transfer window is open until this Thursday.
The purchase of right-back Sacha Boey is almost perfect. “We’re assuming that, yes,” replied sports director Christoph Freund to a corresponding question: “We’ll see whether we can do it today or tomorrow, but hopefully at the weekend.” Boey (23) comes from Galatasaray Istanbul, should are already in Munich and, according to media reports, the transfer fee costs almost 30 million euros.
