The activity of Handball Belluno never stops. The company linked to the Firex brand and to the Polisportiva Mondo Sport, immediately after finishing the Serie B and under 17 championships, has chosen to organize a Handball summer camp which aims, among other things, to widen the audience of practitioners. There are three groups: from that of the largest (U17 and U19, together with some players of the B team) up to children born between 2013 and 2015, passing through the U13-15.
«All children, especially those between 9 and 11 years old, who would like to try to get closer to this sport, are welcome», underlines the sports director Eddy Ortese, «like children between 13 and 15 years old. We are also constantly looking for goalkeepers, both among the smallest and in the group of the largest. If there were guys who, for example, have played football and are interested in trying their hand at this sport, it would be nice for us to receive them in these weeks to give them a chance to try ».
The Firex guys are training every day. U11 and U15 undergo three training sessions a week, while U17 and first team are engaged five times, combining activities in the gym (at the Squash club), running and training in the courtyard of the Castion middle school where a handball field has been set up. The trainings are conducted by the technical director Darko Pranjic assisted by some other foreign technicians who alternate on a weekly basis. The past season has given various satisfactions, with some bitterness, both to the boys of the B and to the U17s. The first team, after a first round below expectations, redeemed themselves in the return leg. The youth team, after dominating the regular phase, was mocked in the final: first they saw the record fade, then they narrowly lost the play-off for the fourth interregional place. However, that of the people of Belluno remains a path of applause. –
