Garlasco starts again, thrilling challenge with Grottazzolina

And, therefore, it will also be Vittorio Bertini’s first men’s A3 series race on the Garlasco bench to which he returns after sitting there five years ago in the first year of Serie B of the men’s training of president Silvia Strigazzi. “Grottazzolina is the team that probably expresses the best choral game of the whole championship, a strong, tough and difficult opponent, but I am sure that we will be ready”, is the opinion of the coach on the eve of a wildcard match for the his team, that is one of those challenges in which scoring points is worth a lot and can, to tend, change perspectives that, in the short term, will focus after today’s recovery, on the double battle salvation within eight days next Sunday at home with ViviBanca Turin and the following Sunday at the PalaDozza in Bologna against Geetit. Compared to its rivals, Volley 2001 Garlasco has two fewer games including today’s recovery and, given the current ranking, scoring points in these two recoveries (the one in Fano is still to be fixed) would mean taking an important advantage over the red zone, now only two points below.

«We trained without focusing on how Grottazzolina plays precisely because it is a team capable of being dangerous in every department, so even trying to work to stop, for example, Nielsen is relatively useful when there are other equally dangerous and decisive forwards. So we prepared the team match, to play, defend and attack as a group. Compared, then, to the first part of the first leg and the match at the start of the season, we have Savino Di Noia on the field who for this team and for this category certainly constitutes a great advantage and an added value on which to try to build a second round with a turnover of points higher than the first leg. For the single and collective technical characteristics, I train a team that can focus more on a simple salvation, but on condition that both do not fail the head to head and play the other challenges at the top ».
