“Between recoveries and championships we have had the opportunity to experience various tests to understand how the situation is and – says Canciani – in retrospect the choice to postpone the restart was correct: now the situation is more rosy than a month and a half ago and, moreover, there is less apprehension in people, even if in any case everyone respects the rules ».

The championships, therefore, restart with great confidence, ready for an exciting final sprint in all tournaments after two seasons in which, due to Covid, it was not possible to live the field. «The championships are all fought, from the Excellence to the Second Category, they all have a lot of appeal and it will be a good second part of the season. As for the second – continues the president – at the beginning I was a bit skeptical but, to tell the truth, this new championship is returning positive feedback and we are happy about this ».

Now, thinking about the future, we do not look at hypotheses regarding new postponements but only to understand when the season will end after the decision to postpone the restart. «The championships should all end in a time frame that goes from mid-May to early June. Obviously – continues Canciani – Excellence will finish first because it must take into account the national phases. Ending the season with a good climate and perhaps the possibility, even for kiosks, of being able to get involved at 100% can generally be a good thing after two years of hiatus ».

As for the athletic condition of the teams, the games played so far have given Canciani good indications. «From what I have seen the teams have been very good, after all this time stopped, to keep themselves in condition. Maybe – the president points out – the verve that could be seen at this moment of the tournaments a few years ago is missing a little but I think it is physiological and that, at the same time, the work done by the clubs has been excellent ». Waiting to understand any changes in regulations regarding youth football, the Football Federation draws a positive balance on the restart: amateur football restarts and, this time, never to stop.
