Hong Kong to Host 6th Asian Trampoline Championships
The bustling city of Hong Kong is set to host the 6th Asian Trampoline Championships at the Tsuen Wan Coliseum on May 11 and 12. More than 120 athletes from 12 countries and regions are expected to participate in this highly anticipated event.
This will be the first time that Hong Kong hosts such a prestigious competition, which will feature three categories: adult group, youth group, and team events. Teams from powerhouse nations such as China and Japan, as well as the host country, are gearing up to showcase their skills and athleticism on the trampoline.
Fok Kai-kung, President of the Gymnastics Federation of Hong Kong, expressed excitement about the opportunity to promote trampoline sports in the city. He stated, “The Asian Trampoline Championships is a high-level platform for display and competition. Hosting this event for the first time provides us with a unique opportunity to engage with our community and foster international sportsmanship.”
In a notable move, Chinese gymnastics Olympic champion Li Xiaopeng was appointed as the promotion ambassador of the Hong Kong Gymnastics Federation at a recent press conference. Li shared his enthusiasm for the trampoline event, highlighting its importance in gymnastics training and expressing a desire to inspire Hong Kong citizens to give it a try.
To further cultivate interest in trampoline sports, the event organizers have planned a series of experience activities across various locations in Hong Kong starting from the end of April. This initiative aims to engage the local community and encourage participation in this dynamic and thrilling sport.
As the countdown begins for the 6th Asian Trampoline Championships, all eyes are on Hong Kong as it prepares to welcome top athletes and fans from around the region for a weekend of exhilarating competition and sportsmanship.
