Like last year at Skialp 3 Presolana the Piedmontese champion demonstrated that he still has the numbers to dictate the law over his younger national teammates. In the women’s competition, yet another confirmation for De Silvestro who, having left behind a season dotted with ailments that penalized her quite a bit, has finally returned to expressing herself at her own level.
As for the podiums in the under 23 Italian category for Matteo Sostizzo and Lisa Moreschini, the master championship on the onesie of the local Giovanni Zamboni.
THE RACE: the route, created at the last minute taking advantage of the lifts closed after the heavy snowfalls of recent days, included 14km of development with 1400m d+ spread over 4 climbs and 3 descents. Departure at the foot of the lifts, first descent to the Vaccarizza chairlift, descent to the old ski lift, second climb to Spalla del Timogno, descent to Baita Pagherolo, and then up to Spalla del Timogno. From here descent to the Madonnina del Vodala and last short ascent to the Rifugio Vodala.
MEN’S RACE: once again everyone at the expense of the “National Eyda”. For him finish time of 1h27’13” which allowed him to keep behind the South Tyrolean Alex Oberbacher (+35”) and the Trentino Davide Magnini (+1’03”). Michele Boscacci from Sondrio and local William Boffelli follow in order.
WOMEN’S RACE: special dedication for the Venetian from Padola transplanted to Albosaggia. Immediately after her grandfather’s funeral she arrived in Gromo with the aim of reconfirming the 2023 tricolor and she succeeded brilliantly, finishing in 1h41’21”. On the podium with her are her teammates in the ranks of the CS Impero Giulia Murada (+4’17”) and Giulia Compagnoni (+5’50”).
Behind the Army trio “Made in Valtellina”, noteworthy is the 4th place overall for Lisa Moreschini (1st under 23) and yet another important performance by Corinna Ghirardi (4th senior, 5th overall) and the home athlete Claudia Boffelli ( 5th senior 6th overall).
