Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Australian Open

On Sunday the Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner beat the Russian Karen Khachanov with a score of 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 in the fourth round of the Australian Open, one of the four most important tournaments in the world, and therefore qualified for the quarter finals. He will play on Tuesday against the winner between the Australian Alex De Minaur and the Russian Andrej Rublëv. Sinner had won against De Minaur in November, guaranteeing Italy victory in the Davis Cup. Sinner, who is 22 years old and currently fourth in the ranking of the best tennis players in the world, had already reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open once, in 2022: in that case he was beaten in three sets by the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.
