FC Girona completed their qualification for the European Cup with a win against Cádiz. Now it’s just a matter of which competition the Catalans start in.
Girona won 4:1 (2:0) on Saturday evening (04/20/24). Eric García (9th), Iván Martin (22nd), Artem Dovbyk (71st) and Portu (82nd) scored for third place in the league. In the meantime, Gonzalo Escalante had reduced the score to 1:3 (81′).
20 points ahead of seventh place
Girona has 68 points after 32 matchdays, 20 more than seventh-placed Betis Sevilla. Four Spanish clubs start in the Champions League, one in the Europa League and one in the Conference League. This means the northern Spaniards are secure in sixth place.
On Sunday (04/21/24) “El Clasico” will take place between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The Royals are in first place, eight points ahead of FCB, and are heading towards the championship.
