Liang Chun and Ye Desheng Visit Putian Shooting Hall for Paris Olympic Team Selection
On March 3, Liang Chun, director of the Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, and Ye Desheng, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Sports Bureau, visited the shooting hall at the Putian Sports Training Base in Pu. The purpose of their visit was to guide and observe the final team selection (second game) of the National Rifle and Pistol Shooting Team for the Paris Olympics.
During their visit, Liang Chun and Ye Desheng watched the women’s 25-meter pistol slow-shooting qualifying competition. They took the opportunity to assess the training and competition conditions of the athletes and coaches, and offered words of encouragement to the competitors. They emphasized the importance of building confidence, seizing opportunities, and actively preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympic shooting competition.
Both officials praised the hardware facilities, management, and logistics support at the city’s shooting hall. They also highlighted the need for improved communication and coordination to ensure a conducive environment for the athletes. They urged for enhanced venue construction, logistics support, and overall event activities to boost the training base as a shining example for the city.
The city officials stressed the importance of maximizing the potential of the training base, enhancing service levels, and prioritizing safety measures such as gun management. Their goal is to transform the shooting training base into a standout symbol of the city, ultimately attracting more sports events to Putian and boosting the overall development of the sports industry.
The final team selection competition for the National Rifle Pistol Shooting Team for the Paris Olympics saw the participation of numerous elite domestic athletes. The Paris Olympic shooting team lineup will be based on the comprehensive scores from the competition. The next stage, the final team trials (third game) for the National Rifle and Pistol Shooting Team for the Paris Olympics, is set to take place in Xi’an, Shaanxi from March 13 to March 21.
