In 1965, Liverpool won the FA Cup for the first time in team history by winning overtime. They had reached the final twice before, losing to Burnley and Arsenal in 1914 and 1950.
Considering Liverpool’s dominance in the top flight, the Reds only won two FA Cups between 1974 and 1986, which is somewhat surprising.
In 1989, Liverpool dominated the FA Cup again, the second Merseyside derby to appear in the FA Cup in four years. The Reds beat the Toffees 3-2 after losing 1-0.
