The idea of ​​bringing him to coach a first team came to the general manager Gregorio Vacchiero Salet, a (winning) shot already tested a few years earlier with Alberto Rizzo and then with Mirko Monetta, very good technicians on the pitch as players, but at the first weapons with the first team. “In June I had communicated my decision to want to quit – explains Vernetti – even if reluctantly, then in mid-July I was contacted by the management and I was expecting a meeting to discuss the youth sector, since I hold the position of manager technical. I do not deny that I have always loved coaching very much, but I thought I was leaving with a youth team, instead the first team’s proposal arrived, I was the after Luca Conta. A few days to reflect then my yes arrived and I started this adventure. So far he is giving me great satisfaction, the team is fifth in the standings, with 26 points in 15 games, in the playoff area. The merit of this position goes above all to the boys, who are applying themselves in the best way, then to the company and to my staff, composed of Roberto Mordenti, Diego Pagliarin and Gianluca Vallomy, who also help me in the analysis of the match on Tuesday , when we review Sunday’s match and look for the most appropriate corrections for the team.
