Agostino Marcolin, however, does not bear rancor and does not want to bear any in the most absolute way. Indeed, he dispenses words of gratitude for those he met during his four championships played in the red and white jersey. Memorable seasons, with the promotion to D nearly in the 2016-2017 tournament and the extraordinary salvation of the last championship, when few were left to believe it.

The market of the past summer brought him to Chioggia and on Sunday with the Clodiense he will challenge what in part represents his past. He is not the only ex of one of the three teams that have merged into the Dolomites, by the way. Together with him also Serena, Calcagnotto and Spencer from Belluno. And on the bench he trains Antonio Andreucci, two yellow-blue tournaments between 2007 and 2009. Marcolin, however, according to some, still represents a regret on the market today. After all, he had scored 15 goals in the last championship and now, despite being only one, he has already risen to three assists.

Agostino, you have never hidden your connection with Sedico.

«They were among the best years of my football career. Indeed, I define myself reborn in red and white. The close ties with teammates, coaches, managers will always carry them within me. I received a lot, but I think I also gave a lot, beyond the almost 60 goals scored ».

Is there a person who has remained in your heart in a particular way?

«The very president Sergio De Cian. A splendid man, almost a grandfather for someone like me who has been there for some time. Whatever needs I had and my companions had, he was there. I’m sorry he’s not in management in the Dolomites. But in general I don’t forget anyone: “Geki” De Cian, “Caio” Fant, Moreno Della Vecchia … Teammates then I met some spectacular ones. Apart from those who came from outside, it is impossible to forget the various Radrezza, Mastellotto, Brustolon, Luca Malcarne, Seba Solagna. Or even the trainer Andrea Da Poian, who I still hear today ».

«We have obtained an absurd result, even after such a start, which in any case no one was to blame. From January onwards, our statistics were from direct promotion. And in fact, saving well in advance was like winning a championship ».

Also thanks to Mr. Tiozzo, who among other things for a period seemed to be in a run-off with Lauria for the bench of the Dolomites.

«The esteem for him is enormous. He taught me a lot, from every point of view. I think the whole team will remain tied to him ».

Of that San Giorgio Sedico, however, only Tibolla remained in the Dolomites, in addition to the young De Pellegrin. Was there really no place for Marcolin?

“I can’t say I would have stayed for sure. I would have considered if I had been asked to join the squad. But I was sorry not to get any calls. And I don’t mean from the coach or the sporting director, whose choices I respect. I refer to who was in the management of San Giorgio Sedico and then went to the Dolomites. Perhaps I deserved a phone call to those who had been with them for four years. Also to hear me say a “Thank you and goodbye”. I had done it, when in 2019 I went to Cartigliano in D. That said, it doesn’t matter. I do not change what was said previously about links with people ».

“I’m fine here. The squad is competitive and you have to sweat the place and how. We know we can have our say all the way. And from ours we count on a wonderful audience, which makes you feel much higher than the D series. Regarding the championship victory, there are many strong teams to respect, like the Dolomiti Bellunesi itself ».
