In the long night of rock there are endless stories to tell. Stories of rock and damnation, of death and beauty, parables that taste of destiny and magic, demons and madness. Stories often so absurd that they do not seem true, but literary invention. Massimo Cottojournalist and voice of Virgin Radio, chooses ten of them and tells them how they used to tell each other once in dimly lit rooms wrapped in a strange air: it is the «Decamerock»On stage at Alfieri, tonight, Wednesday 30 March, for a sold out evening (at 9 pm, last tickets in the theater).

“I’m happy to finally be on the Alfieri stage – says Cotto – Back from a date in Settimo Torinese, in May we will be at the Carcano in Milan, but getting on this stage, here in Asti, is a huge emotion, I have a crazy love for my city. They will be rock stories, but not only, from Moby Dick to the great Gatsby, passing through what for me is the greatest rock star in the world: Paganini ».

By rock, in this narrative, we mean “that epic and tragic sense of everyday life that has nothing to do with just a musical style”: Ciampi, the heroes of sport, the muses of jazz and cinema, are also rock characters of literature. A colorful human comedy parades on stage, damned and beautiful to tell.

Cotto will be on stage with Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, a voice that enchants to add other stories, like a radio in the dark that draws suggestions. But «Decamerock» is not just a spectacle of stories and songs, of frightening and poignant fables. There is something more and different: a specter that roams the stage. It is that of Nico, femme fatale of rock, Andy Warhol’s muse and voice of the Velvet Underground in one of the fundamental albums of the last century. It is she, played by Chiara Buratti, the ring that binds the stories, the red thread that wraps every step of the plot with beauty and damnation. «The engine of history, the one that drives everything forward – continues Cotto – is the compass needle, the North Star of the“ Decamerock ”: Chiara is Nico, a beautiful, wonderful woman, a goddess who made anyone fall in love. And she that she comes back because she died exactly as she lived: without being understood ».

There is also Francesco Santalucia, which plays and remains in the shadows because it is from there that it can illuminate any story. The direction is by Roberto Tarasco.
