After Verona, another success for Inter, which passes in Monza 5-1 and momentarily extends to +5 over Juventus, awaiting Tuesday’s match between the Bianconeri and Sassuolo.
The Nerazzurri dominate, immediately creating a shower of scoring opportunities and in the 15th minute they are already two goals ahead. Calhanoglu unlocks the situation with a penalty (Gagliardini’s hands on Lautaro’s header). The Argentine doubles the lead from Dimarco’s cross from the left.
Monza, on the ropes, reacts in the 32nd minute, when Pessina’s header is disallowed for offside. In the 61st minute Inter made a very quick restart, with Thuram, instead of kicking, heeling Calhanoglu backwards. The Turk takes a penalty on the move and beats Sorrentino for the second time. Palladino’s team reacts in the 68th minute: Darmian brings down Dany Mota in the area and Pessina makes no mistake from the spot. But in the 84th minute Lautaro scored twice from the spot (Akpa Akpro landslide on Frattesi in the area). Finally Thuram’s goal.
