Ducati queen in France with what could be its future rider. Enea Bastianini wins at Le Mans, imposing himself with character in the French GP of the MotoGP and relaunching himself in the world championship on the day when Pecco Bagnaia’s world championship hopes badly derailed. The Dersmosedici flies, in France it hits a solid double, with Jack Miller second behind the Gresini team bishop, but can complain about Bagnaia’s fall which throws away the best opportunity to get back on the right tracks of the world championship fight. The one who, at the moment, always sees Fabio Quartararo at the top of the standings, 4th with a Yamaha more difficult than expected in the race after the great pace of practice, but pressed only 4 points by Aleix Espargaro’s Aprilia who, quietly , closes third and hits the fourth podium of the season: demonstration of speed and consistency.

bastianini top, wet flop

Bastianini was very good, with a choice of tires (medium soft) different from the official reds (double soft): he waited for the fight between the two Ducatis of Miller and Pecco at the start, then broke the delay at two thirds of the race ( 21. round) mercilessly attacking the leader Bagnaia. Nice duel: lunge, Pecco replies who, however, first goes wide, then slips in the middle of the last two corners. Perhaps unnerved by the attack. From the altar to the dust. In a few moments Pecco sees the ghosts of Qatar and Indonesia again and now he finds himself with a mountain to climb in the world championship: 46 points behind the top and above all five riders in front. For Enea, who is playing with Jorge Martin, still fallen (but can there really be a confrontation between the two at the moment?), His place in the official Ducati 2023 confirms his depth: the rider from Rimini has driving skills, temperament and coolness. In Borgo Panigale they can smile with him.

missed podium

Behind Jack Miller, second in substance, is Aleix Espargaro’s Aprilia who holds up for most of the race at the pressing of Fabio Quartararo who hoped for a podium in front of his fans: the Frenchman misses him due to a start unfortunate that forced him to a race as a chaser, a terrain on which the Yamaha still trudges even if on a track on paper that is congenial to the M1 such as Le Mans.

suzuki at peak

Race to forget for Suzuki: the house of Hamamatsu, ‘resigned’ at the end of the year, goes to the bottom with both of its riders fallen: first Alex Rins, who started very well, who is unable to imitate the cut at full speed on the land of the first variant succeeded by Zarco in practice and slips back on the asphalt; then Joan Mir, on the ground on lap 15 when he was fourth.

Italians in points

Fifth place for Johann Zarco, three Ducatis in the top 5, preceding a Marc Marquez always in difficulty, but first of the Hondas. Nakagami (Lcr team) is seventh ahead of Brad Binder and Luca Marini, 9th and the best result of the season. Vinales 10th with Aprilia, just considering the race of his teammate Aleix Espargaro, while the Italians Marco Bezzecchi (12th), Fabio Di Giannantonio (13th) and Franco Morbidelli (15th) also score points.
