Omnia Pavia greets Nasello and confirms Donadoni on the 2021-22 roster which is taking shape more and more. Alessio Donadoni last season proved to have physical and technical skills, not only to stay in the cadet but also to dream of the superior series. It just needs to be more constant and mentally grow, two aspects that coach Fabio Di Bella has already worked on for a long time; guard-wing of considerable physical impact, born in 1997, Donadoni is the starting three of the quintet of the future.
As it was easy to predict, meanwhile, with the signing of Sgobba, Omnia has severed the contract with Ferdinando Nasello. In two seasons, “Naso”, born in 1995, has grown, with spectacular plays in the low post, great defenses and the use of the pivot foot worthy of a long 80s.
The quintet takes shape
At this point, the ambitious team of next season begins to take shape, even if the fundamental figure of the pivot is still missing. The conductor’s baton is entrusted to the expert hands of Alex Simoncelli, a director who has always played in A2 or ambitious cadet teams, who guarantees points and phosphorus. In place two, Donadoni’s confirmation is an important brick for the player’s skills and because he knows perfectly what Di Bella is asking for. Place three belongs to the “gunslinger” Marco Torgano, an unquestionable shooter who breaks any defensive chain when he enters the series. And if last year some team had decided to “baptize” some of his team mates to concentrate on defending Torgano, this year nobody will be able to afford it. If we have already talked about Simoncelli’s shooting skills, the new pivot winger Giorgio Sgobba has one of the characteristics in long-range shooting. Not the only one though, because a two-meter like him is scary even from below.
We were talking about the center to be found on the market, rumors say it is now close to signing: it could be a long expert, a shooter but also a rebounder, in short, perfectly suited to the ambitious quintet that the new president Lele Caserio is trying to build in agreement with Bella ; a young center will also be needed to give the owner his breath.
On the bench the confirmation of the multifaceted Lorenzo D’Alessandro, gritty defender, with physics and technique, capable of jousting both in place three and in place four and who has shown that he has an important shot. The change of places one and two will be Andrea Calzavara from Varese, one of the most promising youngsters in B 2020-21; versatile also Gianmarco Conte, a joker, a defender who throws himself at every ball, but also a good shooter. –
