Andrea Castelli, from Bologna from Castenaso, born in 1964, will be the new coach of the Broni 93 basketball team who will play the sixth consecutive season in women’s A1 next season. Official confirmation arrived yesterday afternoon from the Oltre Padana club, which then announced the replacement of Alessandro Fontana.
The new green-and-whites coach has a long experience in the minors in his area and at the women’s level in the youth sector, in A2 and in the top flight: last year he was at Pallacanestro Vigarano. His debut on the bench in the 1997/1998 season with Spartaco Basket winning promotion to B2. After the experience with the training of Castenaso, in 2000 he moved to Malpighi, with which two years later he obtained the leap in category in B of Excellence. After three seasons in Castel San Pietro Terme in B2, he arrives at Hercolani Castel Guelfo in C1, also following the men’s youth sector in Castenaso and the women’s sector of Libertas Bologna. In 2013 he won the C2 with Castenaso, landing in Dnc, the men’s national C of the time, and well figures with the under 15 women of the Libertas Bologna-Fortitudo Rosa with whom he won the regional title and participated in the national final, after winning the interzone in Battipaglia. In 2014/2015 he continues at Pall. Castenaso in C and with Libertas Bologna women closes in second place their Serie A2 group, accessing the promotion pool; while he won the regional title with the under 17s and 4th place with the under 19s in the national final, where he was elected best coach. In 2017 he moved to the Tigers Forlì in the A2 series and became the Italian vice champion with the under 20 of the Forlì. The following season he returns to Castenaso in C silver and follows Libertas Bologna in women’s B. Last year he was at the Vigarano Basketball in the “pink” A1 series.
Now it comes to Broni. With the appointment of the new head coach, the construction of the new team starts, which promises to be profoundly renewed compared to the one that in the season just ended has won the 2nd round play out against Battipaglia.
However, the company of president Bruno Cipolla seems willing to register three foreigners to be more competitive. Among the first to leave the Oltrepo, Francesca Parmesani from Lodi, born in 1988, officially announced by Basket Le Mura Lucca. Several market moves are expected in the coming weeks. –
