Roland Garros, 4 Italians in the women’s entry list

Four Italians are on the first Roland Garros entry list, i.e. the list of players admitted to the main draw to date in the second Slam of the season. Jasmine Paolini (WTA number 14), Lucia Bronzetti (46), Elisabetta Cocciaretto (55) and Martina Trevisan (78) made the cut.

Of the top 30 in the current WTA ranking, only the finalist of last edition is missing, the Czech Karolina Muchova, number 12 in the world, forced to miss the tournament due to an injury to her right wrist.

Eight players registered thanks to the protected ranking, after an injury or a maternity break: the German Angelique Kerber, the Japanese Naomi Osaka, the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the American Amanda Anisimova, the Canadian Bianca Andreescu, the Austrian Julia Grabher , the Dutch Alison van Uytvanck and the Serbian Aleksandra Krunic.

The last player admitted to the main draw to date is the American Emina Bektas, number 99 in the world.
