DUBAI. Operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) were temporarily suspended for 25 minutes on Tuesday due to an intense storm, it said in a statement. Operations have resumed, the airport added, temporarily diverting flights arriving Tuesday evening until weather conditions improve, it said Tuesday, adding that departures will continue to operate. Meanwhile, heavy rains have hit Oman, causing heavy flooding that has caused 18 deaths, according to the country’s National Emergency Management Committee. Among them also 10 schoolchildren who were hit while they were inside a vehicle. The rainfall also affected the United Arab Emirates, flooding portions of the main highways and leaving vehicles abandoned on the streets of Dubai.
