The winners of the Tenco platesthe coveted musical prizes awarded, since 1984, to the best albums and songs author released during the year. The awards – attributed by a nourished jury of journalists and music critics – will be officially handed over in October. Between some announced winners and some surpriseshere are the winners of 2022.
Marracash, best album
The best album ever is the record ‘We, them, the others‘of Marracash, born Fabio Rizzo. The plate – obtained with 53 preferences – therefore goes to a rapper and officially recognizes this genre as a fringe of the songwriting. This record work of the artist had immediately appeared as mature and represented a sort of continuation of the previous album ‘Persona’ (2019). If in the first, in fact, Marracash he addressed intimate themes, in the album awarded with the Tenco plate he focused on the human relationships that involved him, also addressing new sounds.
Ditonellapiaga triumphs among rookies
The trophy for the best first work instead went with 51 preferences to ‘Camouflage’, the debut album of Ditonellapiaga. The very young artist walked the stage of Sanremo paired with Donatella Rector and in the competition for the Targa Tenco he clashed with, among others Blanco (‘Blu Celeste’ got 45 votes) e Aries (‘Mirror’ stopped at 27).
Best song is ‘Or maybe it’s you’
From the Ariston comes the recognition for the best songassigned this year to the song ‘O maybe sei tu’, co-written by Davide Petrella and Elisa Toffoli. Own Elisa brought him to the Sanremo Festival, ranking on the second step of the podium. The award for the best song, however, goes to the authors of the pieces and not to the performers.
The best interpreter, the dialect album and the collective album
‘Petals’ of Simona Molinari it turned out to be the best among the albums of the performers. Molinari with 53 preferences he won over his colleagues Olden (43 votes), Peppe Barra (42 votes), Cristina Zavalloni (41 votes) and Mario Venuti (40 votes). Among the works dialectalthe most popular was’ Jastemma ‘of the’A67 which have also beaten – among others – the records ‘The Poet who does not know how to speak’ by Nino D’Angelo and ‘James is back’ by James Senese.
Ferdinando Arnò was honored as a producer on the collective album ‘The Gathering’, collecting 54 favorites. The record is a musical mash up, without Borders and full of contaminations, born thanks to the collaboration of artists who live and work in three different places continents.
The Tenco Plaques will be officially delivered during the ‘Review of the Song of the Author – Tenco Award’, which will be held at Ariston theater of Sanremo from 20 to 22 October 2022.
