Cagliari could have had what it takes, but it doesn’t have a sports hall ».

The Municipality seems ready to intervene to resolve after many years the problem of the lack of facilities to host international sport, yes, the highest levels. Mayor Paolo Truzzu announced that he will meet next week with the greatest exponents of regional sport to plan the construction of a new facility. «We need to understand – he observed – what the standards must be. And then go on ».

A need also indirectly remarked by the regional councilor for sport Gianni Chessa: «Sporting events – he declared – bring tourism and economic returns. But we have two gaps to fill: beds and sports facilities at the height of international events. For our part, we are ready to reiterate and strengthen the calendar of events in 2021 ». (Handle).
